Overall Purpose and Objective of Position
The Utilities Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating plant boilers including all auxiliary equipment, responding to equipment issues or alarms, works in a safe and clean manner ensuring work area is kept clean and free from all safety hazards, and reports to the Utilities Supervisor. Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills, as well as a willingness to work a rotating shift schedule is required.

· Work is performed in a boiler house or mechanical plant environment
· Regular exposure to high heat, noise, steam, and mechanical equipment
· Possible work in confined or enclosed spaces
· Exposure to hot surfaces, pressurized systems, and water treatment chemicals
· Requires standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting materials
· Involves operation of valves, controls, and monitoring equipment
· Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
· Strict adherence to safety policies and procedures is mandatory
